Part of the game for big name corporations is to continue getting new business rolling in. They often plan elaborate meetings with those they wish to bring on board with them. Part of the game is basically to wine and dine them. While some people think of this as a type of bribery, in the business world it is simply referred to as corporate hospitality.

Since those being catered to aren’t compelled to do anything in return for what they are being offered, it is legal. The terms of their contract can’t have anything to do with feeling obligated to sign it because they were treated to seats the 50 yard line at a professional football game. They may have been treated to a week long trip at a tropical resort. All of this is done in order to give that business time to contemplate their option to join that business or not.

On the lighter side of things, it often means paying for first class flights, hiring a limo to pick the representative up at the airport, and paying for them to stay in amazing top dollar suites locally. There is generally a generous limit for meals and drinks. This type of hospitality is often done in conjunction between a contract with the hotel and the corporation. If the do it often enough they may even get price breaks from the hotel.

It can take a great deal of money to offer effective measures when it comes to corporate hospitality. For those businesses that are struggling, they end up being at quite a disadvantage. They aren’t able to pay for these elaborate types of personal care. Instead they have to do all they can to gain the respect and the contract on a smaller scale. This can require them to fly to see them instead. This way they can stay at a budget hotel.

Corporations have specialists that take care of all their hospitality needs. These types of jobs don’t just happen. The right people are carefully chosen to fill them. What they do can make or break a deal worth millions of dollars. Therefore a corporation has to have every reason to believe they will offer something fantastic.
